Fili Pari - The Transformation of Marble into Made in Italy Fashion
Young Innovators Produce Fabric with Marble Dust
After the beautiful story of Crea Si, we bring you the brilliant work of two friends who have transformed the world of Made in Italy Textiles.
Starting with marble, a natural mineral resource of the Italian landscape, Francesca Pievani, and Alice Zantedeschi have invented a way to transform it’s dust into a new type of fabric. This innovative new textile is very versatile and can be used in many sectors such as: nautical, home furnishing, and fashion.
Fili Pari a new brand Made in Italy
Since ancient times, marble has been synonymous with art and architecture, and through it’s appreciation and exportation, it has succeeded in promoting Made in Italy throughout the world. Today marble is used in construction, designer objects, and home decor, manufacturing, and cosmetics.
Now, thanks to Francesca and Alice’s love for their homeland and for design, the Fili Pari Brand has created not only fabric but also fashion from marble.
“We started experimenting in textiles to further develop the marble sector.”

The material has various high performing technical aspects and is waterproof, breathable, windproof and flame-retardant.
It is also soft to the touch. Marble powder is in fact made up of calcium carbonate, and this gives the fabric a pleasant tactile effect. In the clothing line, it is generally placed on the outside of technical garments where it’s water and windproof features are best utilized, while the interiors are lined with wool, cotton, or quilted padding.
Note the characteristic shades of color. Depending on the type of marble, and with the addition of special pigments, beautiful salt and pepper or cloud effects are created.
A clothing line and other potential sector
Alice and Francesca started with their clothing line, but want to branch out to other potential sectors such as automobiles, nautical and home furnishings. On their website, they market their finished products under the Fili Pari brand, and also provide fabric samples to companies interested in their fabric.
They are currently selling in 14 stores in Italy and 4 abroad- in Japan, China, Russia, and the USA.
What to say to these two brilliant young women? Excellent work!
