The Home Staging of Laura Pinna

Hi! I am Laura Pinna, the new guest editor of the Maria Laura Berlinguer site. I am excited to talk to you today about houses. I have the best job in the world, at least for me: I am an interior designer specializing in Home Staging!

Home Staging is a technique developed in the United States that helps add value to homes of different types during the home selling process!

Home Staging literally means to present the home as a scene- in this case helping the perspective buyers or renters to imagine the home as their own living space- the scene where their lives could take place. But why is this useful?

Home Staging is a marketing tool, and with a little effort, it allows the owner to improve the appearance of the property and give a warm and welcoming feeling. This in turn accelerates the possibility of a successful sale or rental.

I have studied American techniques and I apply them in a purely Italian Style, helped by the countless Made in Italy design elements available: furniture, fabrics, carpets and lighting!

There are many advantages to Home Staging, most notably:

• Maintenance costs of the property are significantly reduced (taxes, utilities and fees)

• It eliminates the possibility of any downward negotiations, and helps to obtain the expected price;

• Realtors do not need to keep the property on the market for very long and therefore earn a commission faster;

With a few small design tricks, I change the appearance of homes to bring out their best elements.

The fact that I was born and raised in Sardinia, with its incredible landscapes, combined with my curiosity and strong passion for Holland and the Dutch people, always gives me new direction and ideas for my fantastic work.

I love to experiment, and to discover new things in the field. I also love to travel and in fact it was while I was out in the world that I discovered Home Staging.

I am happy to put it into practice in our beautiful country, Italy!
