Fashion, design, culture, art: here in Italy, our history inspires us to create beauty! Today we bring you the story of Ilaria Parente, costume designer and couturier, and founder of the Maison Madame Ilary Couture.

After Cettina Bucca and Paola Vanacore, we return to the topic of fashion Made in Italy – merging timeless design and impeccable tailoring – fashion is an art that, more than others, really expresses Italian craftsmanship and know-how.

Ilaria was born in Naples, a city of historic tailoring traditions. As a child, she fell in love with the 1970’s style turban her mother wore to a wedding, and she still keeps it at her Maison in Milan.

Milan, the city of fashion – because if a person believes in themselves and studies, they can achieve their dreams!

Ilaria studied at the Academy of Costume and Scenic Design in Naples, then worked as a theatrical costume designer for 20 years. For the last four seasons, she has been designing for the prestigious “Teatro alla Scala” in Milan. In short, she has lead a very impressive career.

Ilaria founded Madame Ilary in 2013. Her line of unique turbans is tailored with the highest quality fabrics and sewn and pleated by hand. She takes inspiration from the famous singers of the 1930’s and 1950’s, as well as the creations of designers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier and Yves Saint Laurent.

A chic accessory that gives a unique twist to any outfit.

Two years later, in 2015, Ilaria created a complete line of handmade womenswear. HEKA couture is a line of clothing created for a woman who loves herself and who isn’t afraid to express herself. She is also perhaps a little eccentric, ironic … and a lover of fine tailoring and vintage.

Today Ilaria has a small atelier in Milan – Maison Madame Ilary couture. She is continuing to grow, and with all of her strength and passion, the sky’s the limit!
